Branch Operations Manager
Seneca Companies is currently seeking a Branch Operations Manager for our Waste Solutions group in our South Sioux City office. The Branch Operations Manager will plan, direct, organize and control all administrative, purchasing, inventory, sales, service and construction functions and activities for the Branch Office, ensuring compliance with Company policy and guidelines and governing regulatory requirements. To manage and direct the cost-effective use of Company resources, prospect new business, enhance customer relations and market Company services to maximize investment, protect assets and contribute to Company growth and profitability.


+ Selects, orients, directs, motivates, trains and retains staff capable of meeting current and projected human resources needs; makes recommendations and/or decisions on various personnel matters such as salaries, performance reviews and terminations.

+ Plans, schedules and monitors Branch activities, prioritizing and assigning work, establishing deadlines and inspecting work performed; provides administrative and technical direction to staff.

+ Plans, prepares and monitors operating budget; analyzes billings, job cost records, and other pertinent financial records and reports.

+ Authorizes budgeted project expenditures and the purchase of non-capital items; recommends on the purchase of capital and office equipment.


+ Excellent managerial skills such as planning, directing and organizing. Supervisory and leadership experience.

+ Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to make effective sales presentations.

+ Ability to prepare, monitor and analyze operating budget.

+ Excellent interpersonal skills.

+ 5-7 years of progressively responsible management experience in a relevant industry (i.e. waste solutions, heavy industrial cleaning, logistics/distribution, hazardous materials, aviation or military)

+ Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.

+ Extensive knowledge of business administration, P&L, sales and marketing principles and practices.

+ Knowledge of underground storage tanks (including service, construction and rules and regulations) preferred

+ Ability to perform medium physical work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis. Potential exposure to dirt, noise, inclement weather and temperature extremes, vibrations and equipment movement dangers, and chemicals and solvents.
